Radley College, an independent boarding school for boys in Oxfordshire, brought in Alecta Technical Solutions for a comprehensive supply, de-rigging and installation of their kitchen appliances, including commercial fryers and bratt pans.
We were able to supply them with industry leading appliances that brought their kitchen into the present, ensuring the staff and students continued to be well fed in the months and years to come.
What did we do?
The first job was to ensure that we supplied the college with the perfect appliances for their school kitchen – appliances with guaranteed reliability, safety and a good track record with previous buyers. Taking our advice into account the school chose to go for two industrial Falcon Bratt pans, as well as two large Pitco fryers.
As the site was a school, we had to be particularly careful with our operating times – to make sure we didn’t interfere with lunch service, or interrupt the children’s learning as we moved throughout the buildings with heavy machinery and tools.
Once we could begin, we started with checking the old equipment – de-rigging service connections such as gas lines and electricity. After this, we knew the service connections were safe, and were able to move the old equipment out of the way before getting to work on the Falcon Bratt and Pitco appliances.
These were then commissioned, ready to be used the next day to supply the school with great, nutritious food.
Reviewing the project
Due to Alecta’s hard working, knowledgeable project management team the installation was run very smoothly, and some unique environment issues were overcome with our team’s solution driven mindset. We had to navigate long narrow hallways with large, industrial kitchen equipment but we ensured that our presence was unobtrusive to both staff and students.
The client was very happy with our service – particularly with the non-disruptive work of our engineers, and the speedy turn around time from initial survey and specification to order and installation of one week.
