Recently, the Alecta Technical Solutions team were called in to carry out work at the Urban Reef Restaurant on Boscombe Seafront – a hospitality establishment with a substantial commercial kitchen.
The Project
While the Urban Reef site was having a front of house refit, their team took the opportunity to replace their Rational Combi Ovens and Passthrough Dishwasher.
As service provider, we were tasked with supplying and installing a double stack of high-spec Rational 6-Grid Combi ovens, as well as a brand new MaidAid dishwasher. This was included with onsite training from both manufacturers, after installation was complete.
It was technically a two-part job – to have the old, outgoing Rationals removed, and the new 6-Grid Combis and MaidAid dishwasher brought in ready to revamp and revitalise the Urban Reef kitchen.
In this case, it was actually quite useful that the establishment was being refitted – as it allowed us to more easily access the kitchen with the new, large appliances. The serving counter at the front of house had been removed, meaning we could place the new appliances into the kitchen for installation and commission.
All in all, the project took two days to complete – one day to deliver the new appliances and remove the old ones, and another to install and commission the new equipment.
Project Quirks
At the vast majority of jobs, there are individual quirks to each site which force our team to think on their feet in order to deliver the best job possible.
In this case, the builder had installed a stud wall at the end of the cookline, which stopped the new Rationals being able to roll into place. Our expert team tailored the Rational to suit.
Feedback
Head chef Dave Hutcheson was over the moon with his new Rationals and Maidaid dishwasher – the old dishwasher had slowly been breaking down, and the Rationals were in need of replacing.
His team are now able to focus on delivering the best results they can for their customers, rather than booking in repair after repair and being left to deal with downtime due to broken machinery.
